IAS Preparation Tips:  C set paper was included in the IAS exam from 2011. Since then, this paper has been continuously at the center of controversy, which is increasing. Some people say that how can this paper help in the selection of administrators . Come, let's know a little about this.

Take care of time

• There is a time of 120 minutes for a paper of cassette and eighty questions have to be solved in it. That is, one and a half minutes are available for a question. If this two-hour time is reduced to three to four hours, then most students will increase their score by one and a half times than before. If they get a little more time to think and calculate, then they will reach the right answer for many questions.But if this has been done, then how can a good brain be selected, because the sufficient availability of time will bring all the brains to almost the same level. It is clear that the brain which can think quickly, can calculate, the brain is considered as superior. The question asked for admission in 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' is so simple that on an average, nine out of ten people give the right answer. But among them, the one who is the first to answer is selected.                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Big decisions have to be taken
• एक प्रशासक को बड़े-बड़े निर्णय लेने होते हैं. कभी-कभी तो ऐसी स्थिति आती है कि बहुत गंभीर निर्णय लेने पड़ते हैं, और वे भी तत्काल. उसके पास सोचने-समझने का वक्त नहीं होता. ऐसे में यदि सुस्त मस्तिष्क के हाथों बागडोर सौंप दी गई, तो बात वही हो जाएगी कि ‘फसल सूखने के बाद बरसात होने से क्या फायदा‘.

• सी-सेट के पेपर में गणित संबंधी कुछ प्रश्‍न होते हैं. कुछ प्रश्‍न रिश्‍तों के बारे में होते हैं. कुछ प्रश्‍न लोकेशन्स के बारे में तथा कुछ प्रश्‍न दिशाओं के बारे में होते हैं. इन प्रश्‍नों की बुनावट इस तरह की होती है कि पढ़ने के बाद दिमाग कुछ इस तरह घूम जाता है कि समझ में ही नहीं आता कि हमने पढ़ा क्या है और वह जो पूछ रहा है, उसके उत्‍तर ढूंंढ़ने का छोर कहाँ से पकड़ा जाए.ऊपर से तुर्रा यह कि समय की बेहद कमी है. लेकिन ऐसे भी मस्तिष्क होते हैं, जो फटाक से इनके उत्‍तर ढूंंढ लेते हैं. वे इस ट्रिक को जानते हैं. वे इसके फाॅर्मूले को जानते हैं. वे अपनी इस ट्रिक और फाॅर्मूले को पूछे गए प्रश्‍नों पर लागू करके शीघ्र ही उत्‍तर तक पहुंंच जाते हैं. यह माना जाता है कि जो मस्तिष्क जितनी जल्दी गणना कर सकता है, वह मस्तिष्क उतना ही श्रेष्ठ होता है. वस्तुतः सी-सेट को लागू करने के पीछे एक उद्देश्‍य यह भी था.

प्रश्‍न को हल्‍के में न लें

• सी - सेट के पेपर में अपठित गद्यांश के प्रश्‍न शामिल किए गए हैं. सच पूछिए तो सिविल सेवा के स्तर को देखते हुए ये प्रश्‍न कुछ-कुछ हास्यास्पद से ही लगते हैं. अनेक विद्यार्थियों को मैंने इन प्रश्‍नोंं को बहुत हल्के-फुल्के तरीके से लेते हुए देखा है. लेकिन यदि आप इन्हें थोड़ी भी गंभीरता से लेंगे, तब आपको पता चलेगा कि सचमुच ये अपठित गद्यांष आपके मस्तिष्क के सामने कितनी बड़ी चुनौती पैदा करते हैं. इनमें सबसे बड़ी चुनौती होती है- फोकस की आप उस गद्यांश को पढ़ते हैं और आपसे उसी गद्यांश पर आधारित एक-दो प्रश्‍न पूछे जाते हैं. उनके विकल्प दिए जाते हैं. जब आप विकल्पों को पढ़ते हैं, तो उनमें से सटीक विकल्प छांंटने में आपको सबसे ज़्यादा दो दिक्कतें आती हैं. पहली दिक्कत तो यह आती है कि दिए गए सारे विकल्प ही सही मालूम पड़ते हैं और वे सही होते भी हैं.
• समस्या यह होती है कि इनमें से वह विकल्प कौन-सा है जो आपने गद्यांश में पढ़ा है. आप सही विकल्प को तभी पकड़ पाएंंगे, यदि गद्यांश को पढ़ते समय आप अधिक फोकस्ड रहे हों. यदि ऐसा हुआ, तो यह इस बात का प्रमाण है कि आपका मस्तिष्क केवल गद्यांष पर ही पूरी तरह केन्द्रित था.

मस्तिष्क पर नियंत्रण जरूरी

• दूसरी चुनौती होती है कि आपका अपने मस्तिष्क पर नियंत्रण कितना था. आप देखेंगे कि जो विकल्प दिए गए हैं, उनमें से बहुत से विकल्प सामान्य ज्ञान की दृष्टि से पूरी तरह सही होते हैं. यहांं तक कि यदि गद्यांष में से ही देना अनिवार्य न हो , तो सामान्य ज्ञान पर आधारित उत्‍तर ज़्यादा सटीक बैठेगा. ऐसे समय में जबकि आप गद्यांष के आधार पर उत्‍तर ढूंंढ़ने की कोशिश करते हैं. सामान्य ज्ञान आपके दिमाग में घुसपैठ करने लगता है. आपके लिए यह चुनौती होती है कि कैसे आप इस घुसपैठ को परे ढकेलकर अपने मस्तिष्क पर नियंत्रण बनाए रख पाते हैं. 
• Concentration of the brain is a very important feature of the brain of any big officer.
